Comeuppance

You could hear his screech when he found what’s true
coming from the top of lungs right on cue.
You could see his face darken with fear,
the truth comes home hard when it’s not been near.
A putred smell now clings to the air
lying does that to one who doesn’t care.
The lies he told are now public domain,
revealing the hate of the liberal campaign.
The statements he made collapsed as fake,
just a bunch of lies for hatred’s sake.
A fool and a knave he lived as a podunk,
breathing in hate and spewing out bunk.
A liberal life he lived without care
until the truth came in and gave him a scare.

A normal man would change his way
but the liberal way means he’s in disarray.
He cried out loud ‘til his eyes were red,
then he said he didn’t care what the truth just said.
His liberal thoughts strayed back to his youth
when the things he was taught came from the truth.
His college days brought the hate and the strife
against the country that had given him life.
His teachers all told him that America was evil,
a boiling cauldron of capitalist primeval.
He loved the words of these hate-filled cranks,
bought them, believed them and then said thanks.
Instead of the truth he now had lies
based on Marx’s words of disguise.

Faced with the truth since he was a boy,
he rejected it outright and then tried to destroy.
But the truth is the truth and it stuck around
ripping to shreds his lies so profound.
A liberal’s a liberal and lies are his game,
truth is rejected and replaced with shame.
He now has to lie to himself as well
for the truth he’s destroyed in his personal hell.
He spins all the words to fit what he knows,
hating all others who dare to oppose.
In nervous fright we see him shake
once again bitten by the truthful snake.
He lies to himself and says it’s not true,
getting his comeuppance that is long overdue.
