The Lie You Told

You told a lie, a lie you told
Yes, so very bold
This lie you told
The lie you told was, oh, so cold
Yes so very bold
The lie you told
Was so cold

This lie was sealed in rotten mold
Rotten from the lie you told
The lie of which was, oh, so bold
Of ugly, smelly mold so old

This lie was bought and behold
It fell apart as it was sold
The lie you told was, oh, so cold
Fell apart as it was sold

You ran and tried to pay some gold
To keep the lie from growing mold
This lie of which you told so bold
It fell apart when it was sold

But no one wanted to take your gold
For the lie you told
Yes, oh, so cold
The lie you told grew old with mold
And fell apart as it was sold

Now you wonder, why did this unfold
For this lie you told
Oh, so cold
Did fall apart when it was sold

You invited all with gifts of gold
To buy the lie already told
Yes, this lie you told
Oh, so cold
Which fell apart when it was sold

They all repeated when they were polled
Why the lie you told
Oh, so bold
Fell apart when it was sold

All lies grow mold
When sold with gold
And when they’re old
End uncontrolled
