Intensifying The Fire

He sits alone atop his tree and is afraid

Afraid that his philosophy is on trial

As fire burns deep inside his shoulder blade

Both hands cupped over his ears to shade

The truth from his inward denial

As he sits alone atop his tree and is afraid

He is like a statue the liberals have displayed

A sulking form with an backward smile

Fire still burns deep inside his shoulder blade

And seeks to destroy what liberalism made

Meaningful truth against an archaic style

He sits alone atop his tree and is afraid

With truth the liberal structure more decayed

The reasoning darkened in a downward slide

Growing the fire deep inside his shoulder blade

Then diminishing the reasons he had made

To believe his philosophy - it is on trial

The truth now climbs his tree, totally unafraid

Intensifying the fire deep inside his shoulder blade
