Waiting

Before me I read another lie that insults me.

It screams of hate and prejudice!

Must be one of your emails, come and see.

I do not hesitate to slice and dice

Your logic eludes me as does your meaning;

Must be the liberal inside you, giving advice.

The truth that speaks out is not far away.

Your familiar banter, you haven’t a prayer.

The lie will disappear, the truth will stay.

You rant and rave of flags and toys without a doubt;

Life has no meaning for you and your empty soul.

Another day and another lie the truth finally slips out.

Only when you admit you’ve been wrong,

Will the truth return to your dying soul.

Don’t hold your breath, the wait will be long.
